Spiritual Trauma and Healing Retreat

 May 30 - June 3, 2024 | Salt Spring Island, BC, Canada

We are so delighted to invite you to participate in an extended weekend retreat to explore the realm of spiritual trauma and healing. Open to participants with prior Somatic Transformation training experience, we will learn and discover how to include the spiritual dimension in a practice that encourages a deeper connection with yourself, others, nature, and your spiritual source of vitality.

Spiritual trauma is an injury rarely voiced yet its effects are so profound that it may be named a soul wound. Whether rooted in colonialism, sexism, religion, slavery, genocide, abuse, or betrayal, the result is the same. As with a natural disaster sweeping everything already known and cherished away, it can leave little in its wake. The question then becomes, how do we restore life from lifelessness - and how do we increase our vitality to meet whatever next challenge presents itself with strength, humility, and resolve?

Through practices of embodiment, phenomenology, and meditation, we can explore and enhance our many possibilities. Our innate resources: love, empathy, equity, justice, and responsibility, can be fortified and enhanced by community, a shared consciousness, and a purpose. The external resource of nature anchors us to a shared experience of vitality, veriditas, and life. Embracing the interconnectedness of all things, a perspective long understood and practiced by indigenous peoples everywhere, allows us a new and resilient perspective that can change our lives and the course of life on this planet.”
